Hanna Randall

Short story, novel and poetry writer

Hanna writes short stories, flash fiction, poetry and travel writing as a creative response to learning and to the environment around me; both the physical and mental landscape.  Hanna is interested in exploring how form in creative writing can reflect philosophical questions such as the nature of perception, consciousness, time, phenomenology and existentialism.  Hanna is currently writing a novel set in 1850s Japan that uses the backdrop of a dramatically changing political climate to explore familial bonds, women’s rights, social issues, personal and societal trauma, traditional poetic landscapes and folk tales. Within the narrative, I have used moments of magical realism to blur the edges of perception and dissect memory and trauma.  Hanna was long-listed for Bath Flash Fiction with her story FAMILIAL ENTROPY.
